About me

I taught statistics and forest inventory at Virginia Tech for 35 years and conducted more than 100 short courses in statistics, point sampling, double sampling, GPS, and related topics to industry groups, consultants, and forest landowner organizations. I have designed forest inventories for thousands of acres and developed volume tables and growth and yield models for public and private groups. I have cruised more tracts than I care to remember.

My goal is to provide the best and most comprehensive forest biometrics services available.

Forest inventory, statistics, growth and yield models, volume tables, and other biometrics topics are usually seen as black boxes spewing answers that few understand and even fewer want to be around.

In fact, all of these are easy to understand and apply. Some topics are messier than others, but all can be understood and applied by anyone that can read. Simple arithmetic and some algerbra are all the math required, and calculators and computers handle all of the formulas and mathematical thrashing.
